Our approach

J.D. Interiors was founded in 2002 with the mission of providing an honorable, responsive, and straightforward service for high end residential construction in New York City, with a German eye towards detail and craftsmanship. Well versed in New York’s architectural history, we have an expertise in restoration work and are versed in a broad spectrum of styles, from museum quality classical to cutting edge modern to the meeting of the two, harmonizing beautifully executed architectural details with contemporary materials and finishes. Being a small corporation allows us to personally supervise the intricacies and standards of quality that we provide at every stage of a project, and the nurturing of J.D. Interior’s lifelong commitment to clients, architects, subcontractors and craftspeople is something our team takes special pride in. Apart from our residential work, we have completed a variety of commercial projects, reaching from storefronts, galleries to showrooms and offices all over NYC.

About us

Julian Dersin, the company owner and founder, grew up in Munich, Germany and received his Masters Degree in Fine Art at the HdK (Universität der Künste) Berlin. His two decades of experience in construction comprises all phases of the delivery cycle, from negotiations, permitting and scheduling to turn-over and post-completion client support. He has worked with a variety of architects and designers in all styles, supervising renovations from the Upper East and West Side, from The Village to Tribeca to Brownstone Brooklyn. He encourages a collaborative spirit among his team, a dedicated crew that has worked together for many years.
